CAR WRECK CHECKLIST

(What to do right after being involved in a wreck)

1. STOP immediately;
2. OFFER ASSISTANCE to anyone who is injured;
3. CALL the police, whether you believe anyone is injured or not;
4. TAKE PICTURES of the driver’s license, insurance security verification forms and tag number for
all drivers / vehicles involved;
5. TAKE PICTURES of the physical damage done in the wreck to all vehicles;
6. GET NAMES and phone numbers of any potential witnesses;
7. DO NOT ADMIT FAULT, but be courteous;
8. SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION RIGHT AWAY;
9. REPORT THE COLLISION to your OWN insurance carrier;
10. AVOID GIVING RECORDED STATEMENTS to any insurance representatives;
